YUJIN

Personal Background ​

Yujin was born and raised in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. She has an older sister. Yujin’s family has always supported her career, and she is known for her cheerful and energetic personality. Yujin has a pet dog named "Azzo". She shares photos and videos of Azzo on her Instagram account.

Yujin attended Seoul Performing Arts High School and in 2019 she announced to drop out of school to focus on her career, and continue studies by homeschooling. In 2020, she announced that she passed her GED exam.

Yujin earned her driver's license in 2023.

Career ​

Trainee and Pre-debut ​

Before debuting, Yujin appeared in several commercials and music videos. She was a Starship Entertainment trainee for about 1.4 years before her debut with IZONE in 2018, and later with IVE in December 2021.

Early Career and IZ*ONE ​

After winning fifth place in reality competition Produce 48, Yujin debuted as a member of IZONE in October 2018. She quickly became known for her strong stage presence and vocal abilities and MC-ing skills which was honed when there are games in IZONE activites, she's the go-to host of their group.

On December 2018, Yujin participated in the reality show "King of Masked Singer," where she showcased her impressive vocal skills and gained even more recognition.

By early 2021, she was announced as the new MC for the popular music show "SBS Inkigayo", alongside NCT's Sungchan and Treasure's Jihoon. They hosted the show from March 7, 2021 to March 2022.

After IZ*ONE disbanded in April 2021, Yujin returned to Starship Entertainment and prepared for her next debut.

Debut with IVE ​

Yujin debuted as the leader and vocalist of IVE on December 1, 2021, with the single album "ELEVEN". The group quickly gained popularity, and Yujin's leadership and talent were widely recognized. IVE's debut was a commercial success, with "ELEVEN" topping various music charts and earning several awards. Yujin continued to showcase her skills as a performer and leader, contributing to the group's success with subsequent releases like "LOVE DIVE" and "After LIKE".

In March 2022, Yujin alongside her MC co-hosts, NCT's Sungchan and Treasure's Jihoon, stepped down from their roles on "SBS Inkigayo" after more than a year of hosting.

By May 2022, she was announced to have a collaboration with Kang Daniel and Olympic figure skater Yuna Kim for the Gatorade campaign. "Move Like This" was released on June 20, 2022.

Earth Arcade ​

In June 2022, Yujin joined the cast of the hit reality show "Earth Arcade" (뿅뿅 지구오락실), produced by the acclaimed team behind "Game Caterers," including renowned PD Na Young-seok (Na PD) and Park Hyun-yong. Alongside fellow cast members Mimi (Oh My Girl), rapper Lee Youngji, and comedian Lee Eun-ji, Yujin embarked on a unique adventure that blended travel, games, and unscripted comedy.

The show premiered on tvN on June 3, 2022, introducing viewers to a whimsical premise: four "heroes" tasked with capturing the mischievous moon rabbit that escaped to Earth. Each season took the cast to diverse international destinations—including Indonesia, Thailand, Finland, Portugal, and Abu Dhabi—where they faced a series of unpredictable missions and challenges.

Yujin quickly became a fan favorite for her fearless approach, quick wit, and infectious energy. Her adaptability and willingness to dive into unfamiliar situations highlighted her growth as a variety show entertainer. Over three successful seasons, "Earth Arcade" not only showcased Yujin’s adventurous spirit but also solidified her reputation as a versatile and charismatic presence in the world of Korean variety television.

Crime Scene Returns ​

In July 2023, after a seven-year hiatus, the highly anticipated TVING original "Crime Scene Returns" made its comeback, reigniting excitement among fans of the genre. The new season brought together a compelling mix of original cast members—Director Jang Jin, Park Ji-yoon, and Jang Dong-min—whose seasoned detective skills set the stage for even more intricate mysteries. Joining them were fresh faces, including An Yujin, acclaimed actress Joo Hyun-young, and SHINee's Key, adding new dynamics and perspectives to the show.

"Crime Scene" is celebrated as Korea’s first role-playing mystery entertainment program, where cast members immerse themselves in the dual roles of suspects and detectives, working collaboratively and competitively to unravel complex murder cases. The return of the series not only showcased the evolving talents of its veteran cast but also highlighted the adaptability and sharp instincts of its new members, with An Yujin quickly establishing herself as a standout participant. Her keen observation and quick thinking contributed to the heightened suspense and entertainment value that "Crime Scene Returns" is known for, further cementing her reputation as a versatile entertainer in the variety show landscape.

In January 2025, it was announced that Yujin would be returning in a new season of Crime Scene, titled Crime Scene Zero, and available on Netflix by September 2025.

This Wish OST ​

In 2023, Yujin participated in the OST for Disney's 100 year commemorative project with the song "This Wish". The song showcases her vocal abilities and adds to her growing discography as a solo artist. The song was released on December 22, 2023.

Dreaming : Webtoon '더 그레이트 (The Great) OST ​

After IVE have concluded their first world tour in 2024, Yujin had time and was asked to lend her voice to the OST for the webtoon "더 그레이트 (The Great)" with the song "Dreaming". The track highlights her emotional depth and storytelling through music, further establishing her as a multifaceted artist. The song was released on November 12, 2024.

Sunny Day : Resident Playbook OST ​

On April 2025, Yujin contributed to the OST for the game "Resident Playbook" with the song "Sunny Day". This upbeat track showcases her versatility and ability to convey joy through music. The song was released on April 13, 2025.
